navigating the empty nest – one day at a time

Born and raised in the Washington DC Metro area, married to an amazing husband, and mom to two incredible boys who are just beginning their own journeys. I was a stay-at-home mom in the early years, then moved into consulting once the kids were in school full time. I was fortunate to have a flexible schedule that allowed me to always be there—after school, at every practice, concert, fundraiser, and project. I loved it all, and I wouldn’t change a thing.

But lately, I’ve found myself in unfamiliar territory. During a recent job interview, I was asked about my hobbies—and I instinctively listed all of my kids’ activities. That’s when it hit me: that part of my life is shifting. Just as it’s time for my boys to be independent, it’s time for me to be, too.
This is where I’m focusing on my own goals, interests, and a new journey
